Newsletter: One Party Rule Not Working

April 20, 2026

Dear Residents,

For too long, Montgomery County has operated under one-party rule—and the consequences are now being felt across our communities. What was once a model county known for strong schools, safe neighborhoods, and economic opportunity is now facing rising costs, strained public services, and growing frustration from residents. When power is concentrated without meaningful competition, accountability suffers.

Today, residents are seeing:

  • Rising costs of living, housing, and taxes
  • Increased pressure on public services
  • Decisions made with less transparency and debate
  • A growing disconnect between leadership and everyday concerns

As highlighted in my interaction with county residents, many feel that local leadership has lost focus on results. Government spending continues to grow, yet outcomes are not keeping pace. Small businesses struggle, families are squeezed, and confidence in local government is declining.

The reality is:

  • Spending is increasing without clear results
  • Small businesses face mounting regulatory and cost burdens
  • Housing affordability continues to worsen
  • Residents are paying more but seeing less improvement

Montgomery County doesn’t lack resources—it lacks balance. Restoring competition in government is not about division; it is about better decision-making, stronger oversight, and rebuilding trust.

It’s time to:

  • Restore accountability and transparency
  • Prioritize economic growth and opportunity
  • Put residents—not politics—first
  • Demand real results from our government

Our county’s future depends on leadership that works for everyone. Let’s bring back balance and rebuild what made Montgomery County strong.
